Zanthus survey about Metroid?

Apparently there is some survey floating around from the site Zanthus.com asking where we would like to see the Metroid series go. Their are also surveys about Mario and Link asking the same questions. The questions involve what other types of games we would like to see these characters in. Check out a picture of the survey below, and if anyone else comes across this survey please email me and let me know.

*RUMOR* Sizcoz is back!

Sizcoz emailed me today with a little bit of information...or should I say a question. He sent me a patent by Nintendo for the name Triforce. He posed the question why would they need to patent that name? Now if I am correct, Sega and Nintendo worked together on an arcade board for F-Zero in the arcades, and that board was called Triforce. I could be wrong about the details, but I swear there is a Triforce arcade board. Nevertheless, I pulled some information from the document he sent me, check it out for yourself.

Watch TV on your DS!

Lik-Sang is a well known importing site when it comes to video games. They have everything and anything you could ever want from the land of the rising sun. Here is an instance of a product available that I didn't even know existed. Apparently you can now watch TV on your DS, if you are willing to drop $90 on it. Also, when you add this baby to your DS it doubles the size! Is it really worth it to watch TV? Still it is an interesting product. Check out a picture below.

*RUMOR* Another day, another Revolution release date and price

Guess what guys, you are going to be paying $299.99 for your Nintendo Revolution, and expect to pick it up this Christmas...according to GameAsylum. GameAsylum is a site that sells all sorts of video game products, including consoles. Looks like GameAsylum wants to join the Revolution speculation, and what they posted is a shocker. According to their site, the Revolution will be shipping this Christmas, much earlier then expected. Why isn't it illegal for these sites to post guesses for release dates?! At least post *RUMOR* like I do! Check out a picture from the site below.

UPDATE *RUMOR* Nintendogs Holds a Secret?

So I emailed Nintendo and asked them what the deal was with the date on the frisbee, and this is the entire email I got back.

Message(#6851-000459-9105\4599105)

Thank you for contacting Nintendo,

That's an interesting observation. At this time, we are not aware of any plans for April 24th. If anything like this were to be announced in the near future, the information would be posted on www.nintendo.com.

Sincerely,

Nintendo of America Inc.
Elvina Schwab

So as far as the people that answer emails for Nintendo of America have no idea what it means, but they haven't heard anything about the date. If they did know something about the date I doubt they would say so, but still you never know. I just like how she said the observation was interesting! Maybe Elvina is just as interested to find out about the Revolution as we are!

*RUMOR* Chrono Trigger Revolution Download?

I have been hesitant on posting this story, because I wanted to confirm it first. Seems like there is more and more information being posted proving this true rather then a rumor, but just to be on the safe side I will keep it rumor for now. Apparently there is a quote in the new issue of Nintendo Power concerning this issue. Here is the supposed quote.

"Those chances could be bolstered by the Revolution's "Virtual Console" capabilities as a new audience plays titles like Chrono Trigger, Yoshi's Island and A Link to the Past for the first time."

The article that this quote comes from is supposedly called 2-D or not 2-D, and it appears towards the bottom of page 72. That is a lot of specific information for that to turn out fake. I will do my best to find some proof of this quote, if I come across anything I will post it here. Hopefully my new Nintendo Power will come in the mail tomorrow! Special thanks to MetalDave for breaking the story.

IGN Revolution Poll Results

Seems like everyone is hopping on the Revolution poll bandwagon! IGN posed the question, What do you think the special hook of the Nintendo Revolution controller will be? Here is how the poll turned out.

Trackball - 4.2% - 648 votes
Squishy feel - 4.5% - 704 votes
Gyroscope - 12.8% - 1974 votes
Brain wave control - 11.6% - 1802 votes
Touch screen - 24.6% - 3790 votes
Wheel - 0.7% - 111 votes
Glove form - 4.6% - 714 votes
Reconfigurable layout - 12.8% - 985 votes
No buttons - 7.0% - 1083 votes
Nothing - 16.8% - 2595 votes

Total Votes - 100% - 15406 votes

Seems like most of you are going the touch screen route, which I am sure the DS had a lot to do with. Who knows, maybe the brain wave control WILL be the defining factor! Hopefully there won't be too many more weeks of speculation.

*RUMOR* Eternal Darkness Sequel

This is extremely promising news. I really, REALLY hope this comes true. Someone has stumbled upon a patent for a "Sanity system for a video game". If you all remember way back in the Cube's early life, there was a little game called Eternal Darkness. The game was developed by Silicon Knights and Nintendo. Silicon Knights have now moved towards publishing games for other systems, rather then just Nintendo. In comes this patent. The patent as I said is for a sanity system, and it sounds eerily like the one from Eternal Darkness. The information on the patent includes Denis Dyack, who was an integral part of Eternal Darkness on the Silicon Knights side. Thing is, this patent is in Nintendo's hands, and it was just updated today! Could there possibly be an Eternal Darkness sequel headed to the Revolution, or maybe the DS? I would say if the game is coming it would be WAY more likely that it is Revolution bound. Man, I have to find out more news on this rumor, because Eternal Darkness is one of my favorite games ever. Click the link below to check out the patent for yourself.

I really should learn Japanese

Rather then have you sift through A Japanese site, I will just provide you with the pictures I have. Watch.impress has up some pictures of Micro accessories that are pretty cool. First off they have a Micro wrist strap, but what is more interesting are the Micro carrying cases. They kinda look like cellphone cases, but these are specifically made for the Micro. Check'em out below, and I am sure we will be seeing accessories like this in the US sometime around the Micro's launch.

*RUMOR* Nintendogs holds a secret?

If you have a DS, chances are you either have Nintendogs already, or plan on getting it very soon. I suggest you have a look through the instruction booklet...page 28 is VERY interesting. Below is the same picture that appears on page 28 in the booklet. Click on it to see a larger version, and then continue reading below.

Awwww...a puppy and his frisbee, isn't that cute! Wait a minute, what is written on that frisbee. Gotta turn it upside down to see. Oh its a puppy and it says his name underneath...April 24....wait, what the hell, that isn't a dog name! Now I know that it is hard to make out in the wallpaper picture, but I can confirm that the frisbee definately says April 24th in the picture. Like I said, if you have the game check out the booklet for yourself, its much easier to see there. I LOVE this kinda stuff, and Nintendo uses these hidden messages from time to time. What on earth could the April 24th stand for? Revolution release date, Twilight Princess release date, or is it just a random date!? This one begs to be checked into...I may have to make some calls!

*UPDATE*
In the above picture the words 2004 "something" MEET are printed...in the Nintendogs manual they are not*

Call of Duty All Star Cast

Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty Big Red One will have an amazing cast of voice actors lending to the games. Take a look at the actors below, and make sure to note their credits.

Michael Cudlitz (credits include "Band of Brothers," "Live From Baghdad," "The Negotiator")
Rick Gomez (credits include "Band of Brothers," "Ray," "Sin City")
Frank John Hughes (credits include "Band of Brothers," "Catch Me If You Can")
James Madio (credits include "Band of Brothers," "Shark Tale")
Ross McCall (credits include "Band of Brothers," "EMR," "Hooligans")
Rene L. Moreno (credits include "Band of Brothers," "Last Flight Out")
Richard Speight Jr. (credits include "Band of Brothers," "Into The West")

I think that these actors will do JUST FINE when it comes to dealing with a war game.

This is an AMAZING Video

Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix is coming out Oct. 24th. For those who don't know, and I am sure there are none of you, but just incase, Dance Dance Revolution games are games where you follow a set of arrows displayed on a screen, and press the corresponding arrow on a floor pad with your feet. It results in a sort of weird dancing, but the harder the song the closer you get to looking like you are dancing...or just freaking out. You can also download dance dance clones for your PC via certain "illegal" methods. While checkin out collegehumor.com I found a video of someone that had the game for his PC, but he is playing it using a keyboard. This video is simply amazing. If anyone could press the arrows this fast with a foot pad, I think I would call them God. Watch how fast this guy presses the arrows on his keyboard...I can't even keep up! It may be a trick, it may not, but it is still fun to watch. Click the link below and check out the insanity for yourself.

Is this even possible?!

Pearl Blue, Graphite, Micro All the Same Day

I think Nintendo is doing what they can to take over all available shelving space at local game retailers. According to EBGAMES, the two new colors of GBASP will be hitting the streets in the US on the same day as the Micro. Hmmm...pretty GBASP, pretty GBASP, pretty Micro...decisions decisions! Throw in the Micro faceplates, and I think it is safe to say that you can have some variety of the GameBoy Advance in ANY COLOR IMAGINEABLE. How bout brining us some new GameCube colors!

How would you guys feel about me getting rid of the new forums and using the one Alainmeyer1 has created for us? Would you mind losing topics you have made, comments you have added, and having to sign up again? This is a very important topic to me, and especially Alainmeyer1 since he took the time to do this. Nintendo Buys Nintendo

Nintendo doesn't want a hostile takeover on it's hands. Just to make sure that Nintendo will always be the major stock owner in itself, they will be buying back 2.2 million shares of their own stock. This would stop any future companies from bidding on Nintendo, or trying to force a takeover. In a world of mergers and buyouts, seems like Nintendo is making a wise decision.
