Revolution to DS downloads

Interestingly, the Nintendo boss also confirmed that Revolution users will be able to download demos for the Nintendo DS to the console and then transfer them wirelessly to their handhelds.
Downloading game demos for your DS by way of Revolution, and then using the Revolution to transfer them. Sounds like a pretty nifty idea, but this begs one question. With the DS going wifi, couldn't you just download them directly onto the DS?

Perhaps it was just a roundabout way of describing the compatability between the Rev. and DS.
