Mario at Revolution launch looks to be coming true

Don't get me wrong, I LOVED Luigi's Mansion, but I just don't think it is a first party game that should LAUNCH a system. Any other time in the GameCube's lifespan, and the game would have made much more sense. For those of you who are wondering if Mario will appear at the Revolution's launch, check out what 1up has to say.

One of the reasons people looked upon the GameCube's launch as peculiar was the lack of a Mario title accompanying its launch. No, Luigi's Mansion doesn't count; Super Mario Sunshine didn't arrive till much later, removing much of its possible impact on the hardware's arrival.

That won't be the case with Revolution, though; Miyamoto's already confirmed to German newspaper Spiegal Online (thanks to GAF for the translation) the game's in development, and recent comments from Nintendo president Satoru Iwata only underscore this suspicions. Iwata won't talk about the game, but does say that Revolution needs a Mario game at launch.

Ah, Mario at launch, just like the good old days. Now somebody get Nintendo to package the game with the system too!

This can be good but this can be bad...

Good: Mario at launch - instant seller

Bad: RUSHED Mario at launch. Last I've heard Myamoto(sp?) was still trying to come up with an idea for a game. Do we want a good Mario game? or do we want a rushed generic Mario game that'll come later?

He would never put something out that is rushed. At least I would never expect him to. Look at the new Zelda. And you think he'll rush it out?
