*RUMOR* Revolution to be Televised?
I finally got back to checking out messageboards on the net now that my computer is back in action. Of course, just being gone for 2 days was more then enough time for some rumors to take off. I guess I will start with the facts. Gamespot.com is going to be taking over the show Cinematech on the G4 network Aug 24th and 25th. The following paragraph is from Gamespot.com itself. See if you can find the word thats creating all the buzz.
"Will you be there when GameSpot invades the airwaves and plants its flag in G4's Cinematech? We sure hope so, because otherwise those guys won't give us our flag back! Check out all the info on our exciting episodes here, and be sure to tune in to G4 when the revolution begins on August 24 and 25."
I am sure you see the word that has people trying to figure out what is going on. I understand that the word revolution can be used by itself, it DID exist before Nintendo announced it as the codename for their new system. Having stated that, let's look at the futher information that has fueled this rumor. First off, Gamespot is all about games, and they KNOW that the Revolution is a hot topic out there. For a site that does nothing but video game news, it seems a little funny to choose that wording for their story. Did they have to go with revolution?! Let's just say that that choice of wording was all by chance. Futher information to fuel the possible Revolution fire lies within the names of the Cinematech episodes coming up. Check them out below
Wednesday 10:00 - "Games of 1998" 10:30 - "Digital Women's Liberation Front" Thursday 10:00 - "How to Be a Player" 10:30 - "Elegy for a Generation"
One of those titles look suspicious? People are speculating that if the Revolution is going to be shown, its going to be in that final episode. Chance of any of this turning into truth is about .1%, chance of this just being a coincidence 99.9%. Who doesn't love a good rumor!
