1up Revolution rundown

1up has a MASSIVE article that contains pretty much anything that has ever been talked about concerning the Revolution. This article contains everything from the speculation right after E3, up to all the news we know as of today. The article is definately worth checking out. Click the link below to read the article.

Nintendo Hotline yields Revolution info

Apparently some sleuthy someone out there managed to hit upon some Revolution release information by sneaking around inside the Nintendo Hotline. By trudging through the various pre-recorded messages on the hotline, they came across this message.

"As the company with the strongest heritage of innovation, Nintendo moves the bar for all next-gen systems by employing a wide-ranging strategy that will attract more kinds of gamers to more kinds of games. When Nintendo's new console, codenamed Revolution, arrives in the later half of 2006, everyone will discover the meaning of all-access gaming."

Now, let the speculation begin on what exactly the later half of 2006 includes!

ASH artwork

See this girl? She's the one you will be kicking some ass with in Ash. She looks pretty cute in the upper pictures, and pretty badass in the lower one. Nice to know we will have a main character that can fill both quotas.

Battles of Prince of Persia trailer

IGN has posted the first official trailer for Battles of Prince of Persia for the DS. Keep in mind that this is not a Prince of Persia game as you currently know it. With that in mind, click the link below to download the trailer.

Financial report read wrong?

IGN is saying that the news of a Spring launch for the Revolution is just plain false. IGN states that the people that got their hands on the financial reports have misread them (Joystiq....cough) and that the statements only say that 2006 is when the system will launch. Who is to say what will really happen. I can garauntee you that if you just wait, someday we will know all there is to know. It is when that day comes that is the question.

Its springtime for Revolution...in Japan

Word on the street, and in financial reports, is that Nintendo is bringing out its next console, codenamed Revolution, in spring of 2006 in Japan. This is coming from various financial reports, which can actually be trusted. It would still be nice to get an official word from Nintendo, but that may take awhile. Lets keep our fingers crossed for a worldwide launch just like Microsoft is doing. If that isn't the case, perhaps we can get our greedy little paws on our Revolutions sometime this coming summer.

Naruto jumps the pond

Naruto is now playing on US television on Cartoon Network, and the ratings have been great. With Naruto becoming popular in the US, Tomy is bringing their Naruto titles from Japan and giving them a home in the states. This is great news, because the Naruto titles that appear on Nintendo consoles have been VERY well received. If you have been a fan of the anime, or are just becoming one now, then you should be very excited about this news. Prepare to kick some ninja ass sometime in 2006.

New Super Princess Peach pics

I've never wanted to be a princess so bad before. Check out some awesome new screens below.

Steven Spielberg presents... E.A.T.

Game developer Electronic Arts has just struck a deal with Steven Spielberg to produce 3 original games for their company. No mention of any ideas for Mr. Spielberg's games were announced. Only thing that went on was some mutual patting of the back between the two. What an odd pairing...I don't know why this union would spawn outta nowhere. I wonder if Spielberg can tackle video games as successfully as he has movies.

Mario Kart DS Details

Some of the juicy tidbits concerning the multiplayer aspects of Mario Kart DS have just turned up.

First off, Mario Kart DS will feature download play for those who don't have a copy of the game. While those without the game will only be able to race as ShyGuy, and the races will be 100cc class, you will still have a selection of 8 different tracks for you and your 7 friends to duke it out on.

Now for all you Wifi enabled people out there, here are the goods on wifi play. You and 3 other people will be able to play online. Your choices of opponents from the net come in 5 categories, friends only, rivals, recent opponents, regional racers, or world racers. There won't be any arguing over track choice either. You all vote on which track you want to race, and the one with the most votes wins. If you tie, our friend Mr. random will help you out!

This game needs to come out NOW...this new information just made the wait THAT much harder.

ASH details

Slow news day allllllllllllllllllllllllllll day today...but now we have a huge load of info on ASH for the DS, courtesy of IGN. Check it out below, there is a LOT there!

"One of the more surprising titles from Nintendo's DS press conference earlier this month was ASH: Archaic Sealed Heat, a new project from Hironobu Sakaguchi's development studio Mistwalker. The video shown of the game looked like no other DS game we'd ever seen, with a highly detailed characters and worlds.

Sakaguchi is featured in the latest interview of Famitsu where he discusses the game, from its unique approach to visuals to its mysterious storyline. First, the visuals. ASH doesn't use 2D and it doesn't use polygons. Instead, the game makes use of pre-rendered CG for its battle visuals. While Mistwalker had the opportunity to use 2D or low-level polygon visuals like many other DS games, Sakaguchi found that pre-rendered visuals created a fresh feeling. He states that, while the visuals would look rather bad on a large screen, they look crisp and clean on the tiny DS screen.

A few of the more mysterious details on the game's storyline are cleared up in the magazine. As announced at the press conference, the of the title is a flame that was sealed away in ancient times. People who are burned by this flame are turned to ash. The story focuses on main character Aisha, the queen of a kingdom. One day, her castle burns down and she is the only survivor. However, her servants come partially back to life. Their bodies remain in ash form, but their memories and heart return.

These ash people are actually Aisha's allies. Without quite understanding why, they'll accompany her on her adventures. The game promises over twenty primary, named characters, along with a number of unit characters that grow as you play.

Players will have to play ASH for themselves to see two of the story's primary mysteries unravel. The ash people have a strong sense of duty, but they feel pain in their hearts. In addition, the game has an element of science fiction, with people from the future slipping back in time to the present day. Details on these two elements of the story will become clear as you play.

You'll play ASH exclusively with the stylus, as Sakaguchi has previously hinted, and this makes sense given the genre. ASH features conventional strategy elements, including a grid-based map where you move units around. To that, it promises an RPG-like feel for battles.

The game uses the DS's two screens as one would expect given the exclusive use of the stylus. You move your units on a map shown on the bottom screen. Meanwhile, the top screen shows a close up look at the characters. During battle scenes, the top screen shows a view of your characters with the bottom screen showing the enemies and menu command window, with commands selected via the stylus. During story sequences, the top screen is used to display movies.

As detailed by Sakaguchi at the press conference, ASH's development staff refers to the game's genre as "Team Tactics." In fact, Sakaguchi has already discussed with Nintendo the possibility of releasing the game as "Team Tactics Series ASH." While specifics are being held back for now, the Team Tactics label comes about from the RPG elements that are included in the battle system. With ASH, you'll have to think half like you're playing a strategy RPG and half like you're playing a true RPG.

One of the more mysterious elements of the game (yes, there's a lot of mystery surrounding ASH -- and all of Mistwalker's games, for that matter) is its weapon system. Character designer Hideo Minaba reveals to the magazine that he created the Aisha character with a gun that can be equipped with swords. His idea was that it would be cool if players could equip a variety of swords to their gun. It's unclear if this will actually make it into the game, although Sakaguchi seems to be interested in the idea.

ASH is still a ways off from completion. The game's plot has just been finished, and the ideas behind the Team Tactics system solidified. We'll have to wait until late next year to play the game, though, as Sakaguchi states that ASH is a year away from completion."

Burnout Legends DS screens

I am a huge fan of the Burnout series, and have been very sad that it hasn't been on a Nintendo system since the second one. I'm glad to report that that will change very soon as we all know, with Burnout Legends DS. It should be very interesting to see how the game shapes up on the DS. Check out a few choice screens below.

Brand new Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones trailer

Western Lords for DS

Thanks to Rashed for the heads up on this news story earlier today. Another RPG is making its way to the DS, this one by a small company called Blossom Soft. Western Lords looks like it may be a pretty unique RPG just from screens alone. Check out a few pics of the game below.

Mario and Luigi 2: Partners in Time scans

Need...game...now....droooooooooooooooooool

It's good to finally see another Revolution mystery

One of the better magazines out there, Edge has something very interesting in their current issue. In Edge's next month preview section, the image above was pictured. That is obviously the Revolution's blue glowing disc slot pictured. The wording below says Next Month Edge 156 on sale Oct. 27. The other half of the page shows what looks to be like a microscopic view of...something. I don't know if the image is actually something...or Edge is just trying to say that the Revolution will be put under their microscope next month. It looks to me that the next issue of Edge is going to have some new info on the Revolution...as far as what I have no idea. October 27th cannot get here fast enough!

Konami's Demon Tower

Chalk up another DS RPG on the way. Not much is known about Demon Tower, other then it is an RPG that is controlled through the touch screen. Check out two scans of the game below.
